Application Program  ____________________________
Individualized, personal, objective college admissions consulting services.  Includes:
  • Collection and review of educational and personal histories, school records and test results
  • Preparation of activities list and student resume
  • Practice online applications
  • Analysis of student’s interests, strengths, skills, academic and extracurricular goals
  • Family consultations
  • Extensive search of schools and programs that fit student’s needs and goals
  • Create a list of good fit colleges based on information provided by student and family
  • Advice on application statistics
  • Development of timeline for testing, visits, essays, applications with specific deliverables
  • Detailed checklists for each activity and application
  • College visit and admission interview advice and preparation
  • Critique of completed applications (maximum 10 schools)
  • Review of college decisions and final enrollment decision criteria
  • Unlimited phone/email/text communication for student and parents
 Responsibilities of the Student:
  • Must remain in close communication.  Emails, texts, phone calls must be returned promptly.  Meetings must be attended or rescheduled with 24-hour notice or time will be forfeited.
  • Communication regarding any college admission correspondence relative to the admissions process must be shared.
  • Follow the requirements of the in-school college counselor, with special regard for internal deadlines
  • Provide high school transcripts, PSAT/PLAN/SAT/ACT results, all other educational testing results
  • Be mindful of deadlines.  Including:  test registrations, applications due dates, letters of recommendation requests, etc.
  • All written portions of the college application, including any essays or short answers
  • Monitor status of applications; respond to any requests or offers from each school

 
Essay Brainstorming and Preparation Program:  
  • Sessions scheduled to allow ample time for thoughtful review and contemplation, mindful of momentum.  Ideally, meetings will occur once a week, but this is flexible depending on student needs.
  • Help student uncover appropriate and meaningful essay topics
  • Help student brainstorm important values and experiences
  • Help student articulate future goals
  • Unlimited draft review via email/google docs until December 1.  Comments returned to student within 24 hours.
  • Emphasis on Personal Statement; supplemental essay topics also addressed.
  • Complete confidentiality.
  • Unlimited phone/email/text communication for student and parents
 Responsibilities of the Student:
  • Must remain in close communication.  Emails, texts, phone calls must be returned promptly. 
  • Meetings must be attended or rescheduled within 24 hours or time will be forfeited.
  • Assignments must be completed.
  • Create a quiet study atmosphere.
  • Dedicate time for in-depth reflection.
  • Honest effort and dedication to creating a meaningful essay.
  • Willingness to engage in open dialogue and idea development.
  • Note:  Bynum Advising will not write any part of the student’s essay.  The final essay is the sole responsibility of the student.

  • Each face to face meeting billed individually
  • “Review and comment” work billed per hour​
